The issue you state is different than your error. Your error is saying something is being performed on the driver that's not applicable for the ODBC version of the driver. You should turn on SQL Logging (in the Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Data Sources under the Tracing tab) and then view the outputted SQL.LOG file to see what ODBC command is producing this error.
